With over 18 years of experience in the skin care industry, Bethany Nickowski is the heart behind House of Figs a space built not just for facials, but for genuine connection.

Bethany likes to call herself your neighborhood esthetician, and she means it. From the moment you walk through the door, the goal is simple: that you feel like you're visiting a friend. Someone who knows your skin, remembers what you've been going through, and creates a warm, unhurried space where you can finally let go. At House of Figs, every appointment is a conversation about your skin, your goals, and how you're really doing.

Specializing in professional Korean skincare treatments, Bethany approaches every visit with fresh eyes. Because skin changes, life changes, and she believes each appointment should reflect exactly where you are right now. No two visits look quite the same, and that's intentional.

In 2025, House of Figs found its true home in the Parkview/Oakland neighborhood of Kalamazoo, and Bethany knew immediately that this was the space she'd been looking for. A place that finally felt like what House of Figs has always been at its core: calm, welcoming, and entirely yours for the hour.

Originally from the Metro Detroit area, Bethany made Kalamazoo home in 2012 alongside her husband, and over the years has put down deep roots here; building a community of clients she genuinely cherishes. She's a mom to two sweet little boys, and that same warmth she brings to her family is woven into everything she does at House of Figs.

Beyond her practice, Bethany is passionate about education, teaching fellow estheticians the art and philosophy of Korean skincare and advanced techniques. Sharing what she loves with others in the industry is something that fills her cup just as much as the work itself.
